There is a time for weight loss but some people cannot just identify that time. They keep chipping away in the hope that one day they might have the ideal figure. Of course this never happens because they change the goalposts the moment one goal is achieved.
However there are certain things that can indicate that there is a problem with weight that must be addressed. This article aims to take a rather humorous look at the signs that someone is getting out of shape and they need to get onto a weight loss program at the earliest opportunity. You know you are overweight when:
- The once beloved clothes start to get tighter and tighter. You will comfort yourself with the thought that this is just the material that is shrinking it the washing machine but the reality will be that you are piling on the pounds and need to do something about it. It is better to be honest with yourself rather than waiting for someone else to insult you. Clothes do shrink in the washing machine but there are also plenty of overweight people that use it as a convenient excuse.
- When those lovely belts that have served you for a very long time stop to fit then you know that something has to be done about the weight. One cannot wear their clothes for ever but at the same time any abrupt changes should be a matter of concern because they might indicate that the person has a bad relationship with weight.
- The double chin is an embarrassing sign that there are definitely too many calories lying about. Some people develop a double chin due to health problems but for healthy people the double chin is a sign of excess body fat. It should act as a warning shot that they need to get their act together or face some serious health problems.
- If you are having trouble climbing the stairs or where you find that every little piece of physical activity makes you sweat profusely. This might indicate a health problem but it might also indicate that you need to lose a bit of weight. One should be able to do the normal daily tasks without getting breathless. It is an indicator that they are eight overweight or unfit. Both situations are not idea for maintaining a healthy lifestyle.
- When you start fearing the weight scales as if they are some sort of scorpion then you know that there is something wrong with your weight levels and you need to do something about it. Sometimes you might decide to make yourself feel better by saying that it is a temporary problem. However the temporary weight problems tend to last a lot longer than expected in the first place.

On a serious note, if you feel overweight then you need to do something about it. You might decide to reduce your food intake and increase your exercise levels in order to deal with this problem.
