Losing weight is not that easy, especially if you are overweight or obese. The most perfect way to shed your extra pounds is to exercise daily and follow a healthy diet. This is possible only if you have a strong will power to stick on to your decision of “no more munching and must do exercise”. You cannot just wake up of your bed one day and start dieting or exercising. If you are a person who cannot stick to such a diet or workout, then the first and foremost thing to do is to prepare yourself, your mind, for the same. It is advisable to follow some basic steps to prepare yourself to start a weight loss program.
Drink one glass of warm water in the morning before your breakfast. If you are a tea lover, you can substitute warm water with green tea or black tea. Have a small portion of any fruit and then go for the usual break fast. This helps you to eat less as you will not feel much hungry. Never skip your breakfast. After 2 hours of breakfast, drink one glass of fresh juice with some healthy snacks, nuts or fruits so that you will not feel too much hungry by lunch time. Always eat salad as a starter for your lunch. Include raw or cooked vegetables with your main course.

Cut down the number of hours of watching TV as this is the time most of us start munching even if we are not hungry. Use this time to do some walking or other homely chores to keep you busy. Make it a point that you drink at least 8 glasses of water before evening. If you find it difficult to drink plain water, you can drink fresh juices or green tea one or two times as a substitute. This helps to clean your body of dangerous toxins. Have a snack with tea or coffee after 2 hours of dinner so that you will feel less hungry for dinner. Have a light dinner 2 hours before sleeping and again don’t forget to include vegetables in your menu. When you feel like having a snack, go for some nuts, or low fat yogurt or some vegetable salad instead of munching fries or chips which are high in calorie.
It is not possible to do this all of a sudden. It may take a month or two to really get into this kind of eating habit. When you get tired take a break and call that a “cheating day”. Eat all you want and then again go back to the routine. Once you get used to this, you can easily follow a healthy weight loss program suitable for your body.
